At Saturday's final VRC qualifier, Notre Dame Prep's high school and middle school teams win the event's top awards.

Team 3333X, Krrish Patel 11, Evan Tringaj 9, William Platt 9, Caden Staniszewski 9, and Christopher Artinian 9, won the top award for high school, the Excellence Award, at Saturday's VEX Robotics Competition held at Notre Dame Prep. More photos below. 


Notre Dame Prep hosted the final qualifier for the state championship Saturday as a total of 39 teams competed  in the Blended VEX V5 Robotics Competition HS/MS Region 3 Qualifier.

Jerry Palardy, longtime mentor of NDP's VRC participation, said the event was the last of six competitions in Southeast Michigan for both middle and high school teams.

"Saturday was the grand finale," he said. "The schools that participated included Cranbrook, Notre Dame Prep, Davison, Detroit Country Day, Southfield Christian, Oakland Christian, Imlay City, Shrine and Rochester Hills Christian."

Team 3333T, the Tornado Troopers, Juan Pablo Turrubiartes 8, Steven Carter 8 and David Ma 8 earned the Excellence Award Saturday with their robot. More photos below.


Palardy said both the NDP middle school and highs school teams won the top two awards Saturday.

"NDP earned the Excellence Award for high school and the Excellence Award for middle school," he said.

Middle School Excellence Award: Team 3333T "Tornado Troopers"

Innovate Award: Team 3333W "Power of the Square" 
Build Award: Team 3333Y "Wynaut"
Judges Award: Team 3333N "Cyber Crew"

Team 3333S is Sam Tyler 8, Thomas Higdon 8 and Alex Lark 7.
