STUDENTS SCORE BIG IN NATIONAL LANGUAGE EXAM

Two gold medals highlight upper school awards in prestigious annual exam sponsored by national language association.

Congratulations to the students at Notre Dame Prep who recently attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2024 National Spanish Examinations, which are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).

Gold medals were awarded to Daniela Alonso NDP'27 and Rodrigo Encinas NDP'27; a silver medal to Catalina Ballesty NDP'25; and bronze medals went to Diego Betancourt NDP'24, Nicole Betancourt NDP'26, Antonella Kaminskas NDP'27, Flora Ramos NDP'27 and Mateo Vargas NDP'24. 

A total of eight NDP students earned honorable mentions: Alondra Pedroza NDP'24, Alaina Polsinelli NDP'24, Lucy Milback NDP'25, Andrew Paulson NDP'25, Emily Mantych NDP'25, Tomasz Kapusniak NDP27, Isabella Kaminskas NDP'27 and Nicklaus Creek NDP'26.

“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Lisa J. Greenman, national director of the exams. “These exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with more than 80,000 students registered in 2024.”

About the National Spanish Examinations
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. They are the most widely used tests of Spanish in the United States.
