BREADCRUMB

Parents Club

The mission of Notre Dame Preparatory School Parents Club is to promote community building and provide support to the administration and staff of Notre Dame. We support the goal of educating students to become Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars who contribute to the community. As an organization, we accomplish this goal through fundraising, social events, and supporting arts and

extracurricular-based programs. As a community of parents, we apply our God-given talents to provide our children with the best educational and developmental opportunities possible.

Our monthly board meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month. We discuss specific topics and events each month. All Notre Dame families are welcome to attend the meetings, we just kindly ask that you contact the president at parentsclub@ndpma.org if you plan to attend a meeting so it can be noted on the agenda. Additionally, if you have a specific topic for discussion, please let us know so it can be added to the agenda as well.

Current parents log in here.

What We Do
The Notre Dame Parents Club is an organization of parents representing all three divisions of the school.  We support the mission of the school, “ With God, we form Christian People, Upright Citizens and Academic Scholars." We accomplish our goal through many roles including fundraising, sponsoring social events, supporting extracurricular functions such as theatre, band, choir, and promoting several extracurricular activities. The Parents Club exists and functions because of the volunteer commitment of the parents and guardians of our children.

The Parents Club is involved in seven main areas.  We are always looking for motivated chairs and volunteers to help us with these critical activities.  Please contact one of our officers if you are interested in becoming more involved.

Fundraising
The Parents Club plays an important role in supporting the school’s operating budget. One approach that has proven especially successful is our model of consolidated fundraising. Each school year, we host the Irish Legacy Gala, a special event dedicated to raising funds that help support school programs and events throughout the year. The gala brings together many school families, alumni parents, and former students, all of whom generously contribute to strengthening our school community and supporting the next generation of graduates.

The Arts
Exposure to the arts is an important part of a student's learning experience. Our parents support drama, chorus, band, and the visual arts activities by assisting with transportation, publicity, costumes, programs, makeup, meals, refreshments, and much more.  The Parents Club is proud to be able to provide our preparatory school students with a high-quality performance venue for the fall musical each year. The Parents Club also reinvests some of the funds in equipment (such as wireless microphones) so that our student performers can be exposed to the right technologies.

Extracurricular Clubs
Children’s interests and talents should be encouraged and developed throughout their school years. Parents play an important role in supporting these opportunities by serving as coaches, mentors, and leaders for activities such as Robotics and Forensics.

Student Activities
The school year would not be complete without those special memories including Senior All-Night Party, Mother/Son Event, Daddy/Daughter Dance, Field Day, Fifth Grade Farewell Reception, Eighth Grade Graduation, and Senior Graduation Reception. Parent responsibilities include event planning and food preparation.

Social Activities
Parents can enjoy being part of the community as well. Special events throughout the year include our Freshman Launch, Fall Family Festival, Grandparents Day Mass and Brunch, Mother’s Mass and Brunch, and the Irish Legacy Gala. The Irish Legacy Gala is a parent-only evening that brings our community together to celebrate and support our school. Many of our other events are designed for parents and students to come together in fellowship and celebration. These are just a few of the many activities and opportunities offered throughout the year, so please feel free to contact a Parent Club representative for additional information.

School Support
These activities rely on the many personal and professional talents of our parent community, whose time and expertise help strengthen and enrich our school. Many important behind-the-scenes efforts are supported by the Parent Club, including Advancement initiatives, clerical support, advertising, hospitality, and Open House events.

Community Outreach
The Parents Club holds some events at other venues to allow the students to showcase their talents while living out the mission of being Christian People, Upright Citizens, and Academic Scholars.  One example of this is the choir students visiting local nursing homes to bring the joy of music to the residents. Our outreach programs tend to be dynamic and changing.  Please contact us, if interested in promoting new ideas.
