Notre Dame Prep is pleased to announce a move to Simplified Tuition. With Simplified Tuition, school fees for mission-essential programs and experiences are incorporated into tuition, creating clarity and convenience for families. Scholarships

We understand that Catholic education is an investment for our families. Providing students access to a world-class educational experience at Notre Dame Prep, regardless of financial means, is a priority for us no matter the circumstances. That’s why we are pleased to offer the Gateway Scholarship Program for students entering grades kindergarten and up, as well as merit scholarships for incoming 9^th graders. Both opportunities are detailed below.

Gateway Scholarships

Parents who believe that NDP is the right school for their child but may be a stretch for them financially are encouraged to apply for admission and a Gateway scholarship. The Gateway program not only intends to assist families with significant need, but also aims to help families with good incomes, those who see a real gap between their financial resources and the cost of tuition. As such, Gateway scholarships will be awarded to students of merit entering grades kindergarten and up who come from a wide range of family income levels, with awards as large as half-off tuition.

Gateway Scholarship Award Details
Scholarship amounts will range from $1,000 up to half-off tuition. Families of incoming 9^th graders requiring support beyond that are encouraged to contact Director of Admissions Gregory Simon (248-373-1061 / gsimon@ndpma.org). In most cases, scholarship dollars are posted to student accounts on Sept. 1.

Merit Scholarships

As an applicant to 9^th grade, you automatically will be considered for a merit scholarship! We look forward to building the best possible freshman class and awarding students based on the four following criteria: 1) achievement in academics; 2) participation in school life (clubs, sports, extra-curricular programs); 3) participation in fine and performing arts; and 4) participation in faith-based activities (parish life, community service, charity work).

If awarded, you’ll learn about your merit scholarship in an official letter mailed to your home, as well as a congratulatory e-mail. Merit scholarships can be as large as $10,000 and are renewable at the same level for the sophomore, junior and senior years. Renewal requires students to maintain a B average and sound attendance and discipline records.

Endowed Scholarships

Berch Family Scholarship

The Berch Family Scholarship was established in 2017 by Notre Dame alumni James, Lawrence and Robert Berch. The Berch brothers’ goal is to increase access to Catholic education at Notre Dame Preparatory School for students with great promise as Christian people, upright citizens and academic scholars. The scholarship is awarded to two current upper school students based on demonstrated financial need, good citizenship and academic success.

Kristy Malter Endowed Scholarship

The Kristy Malter Endowed Scholarship was established in 2023 by Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Malter in memory of their daughter. An active member of the NDP Class of 2013, Kristy attended Central Michigan University, with school counseling or psychology as her ultimate career goals. In July 2016, Kristy passed away following a very brief illness. The award bearing her name supports a rising senior who demonstrates a desire to work with children, and, like Kristy, models a generous spirit, dedication to others, and love of Notre Dame.

David A. Molnar Endowed Scholarship

The David A. Molnar Endowed Scholarship was established in 2020 by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Molnar, in memory of their son. Before his untimely passing in November 2019, David exemplified the mission of our school, of which he was a proud alumnus of the Class of 2017. The award bearing David’s name recognizes a rising Notre Dame Middle School 8^th grader and a rising Notre Dame Prep senior for demonstrating resilience and courage in overcoming challenges in their lives, and for serving as positive role models for other students at our school.
