Artist Joe Borri ND'80
The Gala committee, which has been hard at work soliciting corporate sponsorships and high-end ticket items for the auction, are excited to announce today that they have acquired an original painting by renowned professional artist, writer and humorist Joe Borri, an alum from Harper Woods Notre Dame High School's Class of 1980, for the auction.
The 24"x36" painting on canvas, titled "1988 Dunk Contest," depicts basketball legend Michael Jordan as he won the 1988 NBA Slam Dunk Contest with a perfect 50-point dunk from the free-throw line.
Borri, who says the painting would be perfect for someone's "man-cave," was happy to contribute his art for the good of the school. An amazingly prolific artist with an impressive portfolio of creative work, he also was featured in the inaugural issue of Notre Dame Prep's IRISH magazine in 2008.
